USDT on TON: how it works and how to send it
USDT on the TON network is a jetton paid for in TON. Address format, network fee, memo for exchange deposits and how to exchange USDT on TON.
USDT is also issued on TON — the network closely connected with Telegram. On TON, tokens are called jettons: USDT on TON is a separate asset from USDT on TRON or Ethereum, even though the name is the same.
What to know before sending
Network fee in TON
To send USDT on TON from your own wallet, the wallet needs some TON to pay the network fee.
Address format
TON addresses in user-friendly form usually start with UQ or EQ. They differ from TRON (T…) and Ethereum (0x…) addresses.
Memo (comment) for exchanges
When you deposit to an exchange account, its deposit page usually shows a memo or comment together with the address. Without it the exchange may not credit the deposit automatically.
Choose the right network
The wallet or exchange that receives the coins decides the network. If it accepts USDT only on TON, choose USDT (TON) as the coin to receive. If it accepts only TRON, choose USDT TRC20.
Directions with USDT on TON
- USDT TRC20 → USDT (TON) — move USDT from TRON to TON.
- USDT (TON) → TON — exchange USDT on TON to Toncoin.
- TON → USDT TRC20 — exchange Toncoin to USDT on TRON.
Send USDT only on the network shown in your exchange. A jetton sent on another network will not arrive.

Terms in this guide
Token
An asset created on top of a network, such as USDT on TRON or on Ethereum. A token uses the addresses of its network, and the network fee for sending it is paid in the native coin of that network.
Memo / tag
An extra identifier of a transfer used on networks such as TON, XRP Ledger, Stellar and Cosmos. Exchanges use it to credit deposits to the right account. If your exchange shows a memo/tag, the transfer must include it.
Network fee
A fee paid to the network for processing a transfer, in the native coin of the network: TRX, ETH, BNB, SOL, TON and others. The network fee for your own transfer is charged by your wallet or exchange and is not included in the estimate.
